Is it wax?
If you've spent months asking people to repeat themselves, there's a decent chance it is. A muffled ear, a blocked feeling, the telly creeping up a notch at a time. Wax is a common cause of all of that.
It isn't the only cause. Which is why I look first and tell you what I find, before anything else happens.
And if you've asked your GP, you've probably found that most surgeries don't syringe ears any more. So people put it off. Months, sometimes years. There's no need. Forty minutes and you'll know.

I tell you straight whether wax is the problem. If it isn't, you pay £25 and nothing more.

Who you'll see
Me, Paddy Doherty. I've been an osteopath for 25 years, after the full five-year course at The London School of Osteopathy.
Safety and comfort come first, and I'd rather go carefully than quickly. If the wax won't come out easily, I'll ask you to soften it with an olive oil ear spray at home, then you come back and I finish the job, free of charge.
When it's not the right appointment
- Your ear is painful or discharging. That needs your GP first, not a wax appointment.
- You're after a hearing test, hearing aids or tinnitus treatment. I don't do those. This is wax removal and nothing else.
Booking
Ring the practice and ask for an ear wax appointment with Paddy. Online booking isn't live yet.
Before you come, it helps to soften the wax with an olive oil ear spray, usually twice a day. Most chemists sell one, or I can supply Earol spray for £5.
