About Paddy
I'm Paddy Doherty, one of the osteopaths at the practice on Fishponds Road.
I first saw an osteopath at thirteen, for my own back. It worked, and it set the direction of my working life. I did the full five-year course at The London School of Osteopathy and qualified in 2001. That's 25 years of treating people since.
Why ear wax?
Because it kept coming up. Someone on my table for their back would mention, almost in passing, that they couldn't hear properly and thought it was wax. It never felt worth an appointment of its own. And with most GP surgeries no longer syringing ears, there was nowhere obvious to send them.
So now I do it here. Both methods, microsuction and irrigation.
What you can expect from me
Two things come first in that room: your safety and your comfort. I'd rather go carefully than quickly.
I'm also more interested in you getting value for your money than in getting you out of the door. Some wax is stubborn and won't all shift in one go, and I won't force it. If yours won't come out easily, I'll ask you to soften it with an olive oil ear spray until you come back, and then I finish the job, free of charge.
